After working in the bridal industry for so long, we often hear questions like, “What do you wear to the rehearsal dinner?” Well really, it’s all up to you. But for a little guidance, Siri is happy to share a few helpful tips and ideas.
There are a few key factors you may want to consider when choosing a rehearsal dinner dress, much like when you’re bridal gown shopping:
1. Location. Majority of rehearsal dinners take place in a restaurant or in someone’s home. But make note if the rehearsal dinner is taking place in an outdoor setting. It could be in a place where it’s chilly or unbearably hot. Either way you want to be prepared and still look and feel your best.
2. Do you want to wear white? It’s the rehearsal dinner, not the actual wedding after all. There is no rule that states that you have to wear white for the dinner or even your wedding. Although, a chic cocktail dress in white or ivory is stunning and can most certainly be worn again.
3. Themes are important to consider too. Your ensemble should reflect the theme since you and your partner are the center of attention for the festivities. You’ll be setting the tone for how other people will dress.
4. This isn’t the actual wedding. You don’t have to go and spend a fortune on a dress that costs as much as your bridal gown. Whether it’s a formal or casual rehearsal dinner, remember to have fun, mingle with your loved ones and the rest will fall into place.
We’ve gathered a few Siri dresses that we would love to wear for a rehearsal dinner and long after.
This dress is for the bride that wants to feel like a bride the whole extent of the wedding weekend. This dress is made from dazzling white shantung. The strapless, pleated bodice creates a unique, origami-like effect that transitions into an A-line skirt. The overall style can be dressed up with the right accessories; however, the shorter hemline makes it a bit less formal. This is perfect for a cocktail party style rehearsal dinner. Can’t you picture this one with a short, birdcage veil? We’re obsessed with this dress.

For an ultra-casual, early rehearsal dinner or rehearsal brunch, this dress is a fantastic find. The scoop neck and sheath silhouette create an easy, comfortable look that can be dressed up a bit with a pair of nude or strappy black heels. We love the thin pin stripes on the periwinkle blue georgette fabric. What a great way to knock out the “something blue” aspect of your wedding too.

For the classically chic brides this sleeveless bateau neck dress emanates a Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibe. We absolutely love the Damask fabric as it feels and looks luxurious with its subtle floral detail. Although it comes with the sash, adding a contrast belt for some added color would be fabulous too. We’re thinking we’d pair this with our favorite pair of nude or periwinkle suede, pointed toe pumps.

If you’ve decided to do a destination wedding and you’ll be under the sun on a sandy beach, we’re head over heels for this strapless number. The rich blue hue and the fun embroidery atop of the fabric are perfect to match the clear blue skies and crystal blue water. Plus the strapless, mini dress silhouette makes it easy to dance around in and dip your toes in the water. We’ll be wearing ours with some strappy wedges for the rehearsal dinner.

There are often times us ladies just like to be dressed up at all times because it’s so much fun. We’re infatuated with this dress because of the monochrome color palette, the flirty bow detail, and the fact that it’s just an overall elegant dress. It’s a great style for a rehearsal dinner that’s a little more formal. This dress would be absolutely perfect with some ankle strap, peep toe pumps and subtle jewelry.

The rehearsal dinner allows you to be with those closest to you before the chaos of the wedding day. With that being said you should feel comfortable and at ease with what you wear during the rehearsal dinner so you can focus on the loved ones around you. Whatever you choose to wear let it reflect who you are. After all, your future husband is marrying you for you, not the clothes you wear.
